And any other useful and cheaper advanced technology.” This customer from Zimbabwe is interested in our beneficiation plant, he consulted our manager about its situation.
The mining chrome ore is firstly crushed into proper granularity via the jaw crusher. Then, the crushed ore will be delivered to the storehouse through the hoist. The next step is to send the chrome ore to the ball mill, and the ball mill will grind it further. The ground fine chrome material then will put into the spiral classifier to be cleaned and graded among the various mixture. The unqualified chrome materials will be returned to the ball mill to continue grinding, while the qualified minerals are sent to the mixing tank to fully stir. After the fully stirred, the chrome ore will enter the flotation machine and full contact with the drug. The mineral-containing foam is sent from the scraping plate to the foam tank for drying.

Mineral processing is the most important part of the whole mineral production process, and it is the key department in the mining enterprise. It integrates the process of mining, selecting, and smelting. Separating useful minerals from unwanted or harmful minerals in mineral raw materials by physical or chemical means is the beneficiation. Among finished products, those with enriched useful components are called concentrates; those with useless components are called tailings.
The content of useful ingredients is between concentrate and tailings, and it needs to be further processed. The mental mineral concentrates are mainly used as raw materials for the smelting industry; non-metallic mineral concentrates are used as raw materials for other industries. Beneficiation process can obviously improve the quality of ore raw material, reduce the cost of transportation and processing, and synthetically uses the ore raw material.
Due to the increasing scarcity of mineral resources in the world and the increasing use of lean and complex ore, the amount of ore that needs beneficiation is increasing. Except for a few rich ores, almost all metal and non-metallic ore need beneficiation.
The flow chart of beneficiation plant
The ore in the future that can be directly used to beneficiation is rare, especially with the development of industrial production, the reserves of rich ore are gradually decreasing, so more and more poor ore has to be mined. However, smelting with low-grade ore is not economical. To reduce the smelting cost, effectively extract the useful components in the ore, and comprehensively utilize the national resources, the ore mined from the mine should be beneficiated before smelting.
The beneficiation process mainly includes: preparation, selection and auxiliary. The first process is the preparation, which is to crush, screen, grind and classify the raw ore. The second process is the selection, which is to recycle useful minerals and reject gangue minerals. We usually use the gravity method, flotation method, and magnetic separation to separate the ore. The third process is the auxiliary, which is to concentrate, dry, grade, package and transport concentrate and deal with the tailings.
Three methods of beneficiation
The chromite is mainly used to produce the ferrochromium alloy and metallic chromium. Chrome ore ferrochrome alloy as a steel additive to produce a variety of high strength, corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, high temperature resistant, oxidation resistant special steel, such as stainless steel, acid-resistant steel, heat-resistant steel, ball bearing steel, spring steel, tool steel, etc. On refractory materials, chromite is used to make chrome bricks, chrome-magnesia bricks, and other special refractory materials. Chromite is mainly used in the chemical industry to produce sodium dichromate, which is used to prepare other chromium compounds for use in pigments, textiles, electroplating, tanning, etc., as well as catalysts.
Chrome ore in Zinmbabwe
The chrome beneficiation plant needs to adopt corresponding pretreatment measures according to the different types of raw materials and fuels. In the process of storage, crushing, sieving, compounding, homogenizing, stirring, forming, calcining, cooling, conveying and screening of raw materials, and exhaust gas treatment at the kiln head and kiln, it is necessary to select suitable dust collection facilities according to the nature of the materials and the amount of dust. At present, most of the dust collectors are used to treat dust, which can effectively reduce the dust concentration of solid particles in dust-containing gas.
The noise mainly sources from the machines when they are working. A set of gas analyzers may be respectively disposed on the exhaust gas pipe of the kiln exhaust pipe and the exhaust gas soot after the kiln dust collector for detecting the condition of each corresponding index in the kiln exhaust gas before and after treatment.
The concentration value of each component detected by the gas analyzer on the exhaust kiln of the kiln tail is compared with the value specified by the environmental protection standard, and the amount of activated carbon and active lime added is adjusted accordingly, and the limit discharge requirement of the hazardous substance stipulated by the environmental protection standard is adopted. Sound, vibration damping device, factory sound insulation, reasonable layout and other measures to reduce the impact of noise on the plant boundary.
Due to the variety of raw materials used in the production line, a small amount of harmful heavy metals may be hidden in the raw material. In the process of high-temperature calcination, some harmful heavy metals will also be discharged with the smoke. China Fote company adds a reaction tower in front of the bag filter and support the heavy metal treated activated carbon subsystem to remove harmful heavy metals such as cadmium, mercury, lead, arsenic, chromium, copper, zinc and nickel from the exhaust gas.
Calcination is carried out at a high temperature of up to 1200 ° C. Pulverized coal, natural gas, water gas, and heavy oil can be used as the fuel. However, a small amount of S, Na, K, Cl-, F-, etc. are hidden in the raw materials and fuel, and harmful gases are generated under the high temperature. We can add a reaction tower in front of the bag filter and support the acid gas treated active lime subsystem to remove SO2, HCl, HF, NO, NO2 and other acidic harmful substances in the exhaust gas with active lime.
